Direct sourcing from Finland

Finnish wild & natural products, sourced direct from producers

Bilberries, lingonberries, cloudberries, chanterelles, porcini, wild herbs, Arctic fish, game, honey and value-added ingredients — sourced direct from verified Finnish producers, with EU traceability and sustainable foraging at the core.

  • Verified Finnish producers
  • EU food-safety traceability
  • Sustainably foraged & farmed

Why source from Finland?

Finland combines some of the cleanest growing conditions in Europe with strict food-safety oversight and centuries-old foraging traditions.

World-class purity

Finland has 75% forest cover, 188,000 lakes and the cleanest air in the EU according to WHO PM2.5 data. Wild berries, mushrooms and herbs grow far from industrial pollution.

EU traceability & food safety

Every Willit producer is registered with Finnish authorities. Lot-level traceability, primary-production registration and EU food-safety standards apply to every shipment.

Sustainable foraging tradition

Finland's everyman's right (jokamiehenoikeus) makes wild foraging legal and widespread. Producers we work with have generations of knowledge in sustainable harvesting.

Arctic flavor profile

Long summer daylight and cold winters concentrate sugars, antioxidants and aromatics. Finnish bilberries contain up to 4× the anthocyanins of cultivated blueberries.

How sourcing works

We handle producer matching, sample logistics, paperwork and shipment so you can focus on your buyers.

  1. 1. Tell us what you need

Submit an inquiry — products, volumes, target lead times, certifications. A specification confirmation goes back to you within two business days.

  2. 2. We match producers

Willit identifies verified producers who can meet your spec, volume and timeline. Where needed we aggregate across multiple producers under one PO.

  3. 3. Sample & confirm

Samples shipped on request. We finalize price, payment terms, packaging spec, certificates of analysis and shipping route.

  4. 4. Production & shipment

Cold-chain logistics via Posti or our curated freight partners (EU and global). Lot-level documentation included with every shipment.

Compliance & quality

Every shipment ships under Finnish and EU food-safety regulation.

  • Producers registered with Finnish municipal food-control or as primary producers (Ruokavirasto)
  • EU food-safety standards (Regulation EC 178/2002) and HACCP where applicable
  • Lot-level traceability from forest/farm to shipment
  • Organic certification (Luomu / EU organic) available on request
  • Cold-chain monitoring for fresh and frozen goods
  • Certificates of analysis (CoA) and phytosanitary certificates as required

B2B sourcing FAQ

If your question isn't here, send an inquiry — we'll reply within two business days.

What are minimum order quantities?

MOQs depend on the product. Wild berries (frozen IQF) typically start at 100 kg; mushrooms at 25 kg; herbs at 10 kg dried; honey at 200 kg. We can aggregate across producers to meet larger orders. Tell us your target volume and we'll confirm what's feasible.

What are typical lead times?

In-season fresh: 7–14 days. Frozen and dried stock: 5–10 days from confirmation. Reserved pre-season volume can ship within 48 hours of harvest. We recommend forward contracts for tight peak windows (e.g. cloudberry, chanterelle).

Can I get samples?

Yes — paid samples are sent within 3–5 business days for most products. Sample cost is credited against the first commercial order.

How do you ship internationally?

Cold-chain freight via Posti and our curated logistics partners. We ship across the EU and globally. Air freight available for time-sensitive fresh produce; sea freight for frozen and shelf-stable goods.

What about payment terms and currency?

Standard terms are 30% deposit and 70% on shipment for first orders. Net 30 available for established customers. Pricing in EUR; we can quote in USD or GBP on request.

Do you offer organic-certified products?

Yes — Finnish Luomu and EU-organic certified producers are available across most categories. Specify organic in your inquiry and we'll match you with certified suppliers.

Can you private-label or co-pack?

Yes — value-added products (jams, syrups, teas, dried-berry powders) can be private-labeled. We coordinate with verified co-packers in Finland. MOQ for private label is typically 1,000 units per SKU.
