What is Willit?
Willit connects you with local fishers, hunters, foragers, and small producers. Pre-order and pick up directly from the producer, or order delivery to your door. We handle orders and messages — you can easily choose pickup times and places. Shipping is available on a limited basis for products suitable for postal delivery. How much does selling cost?
Willit offers three service tiers for sellers. Free (€0/mo) — list products, set pickup times, and receive pre-orders at no cost. Buyers pay you directly at pickup. Active (€0/mo, 10% commission) — online payments via Visma Pay, deliveries, and sales reports. No monthly fee. Full (€59/mo, 0% commission) — zero commission, premium features including pickup cabinets and advanced analytics. See details on our pricing page.
Who can sell? Do I need permits?
Anyone can create a seller account. Small-scale foragers (berries, mushrooms) can start right away. Game and fish require a primary production notification to the municipality. Businesses and larger food operations need verification – we check permits and registrations, usually takes 1-2 days.
How does payment work?
For Active and Full tier sellers, online payments are processed through Visma Pay, which offers all common payment methods. Buyers pay securely online and sellers receive funds after pickup confirmation. For Free tier sellers, buyers pre-order and pay the seller directly at pickup (cash, MobilePay, bank transfer).
What if someone cancels?
Cancellation more than 2 hours before pickup? Full refund. Seller no-show or wrong product? Full refund. Buyer no-show or late cancellation (under 2h)? Seller keeps the payment – your time and reserved product matters.
What are collective pre-orders?
Group buying for bulk or seasonal products. Seller sets a minimum quantity (e.g., 300kg salmon). Buyers commit before the deadline. If the target is met, seller accepts and individual orders are created. If not, the campaign is cancelled – no charges.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
We delete your profile, contact information, and payment details. Transaction history is kept for 7 years (Finnish law), but we anonymize it – your email becomes deleted_user_12345@willit.fi. You can request deletion anytime from settings.
How do messages work?
After payment, a private chat opens between buyer and seller. Use it to arrange pickup, share product photos, or resolve issues. Chat only opens after payment to prevent spam.
How do you ensure food safety?
Sellers enter all product information (origin, harvest date, allergens). We store it exactly as provided and remind about Finnish food legislation requirements. Every listing includes seller contact information for traceability. Our quick reporting channel lets anyone flag risky listings 24/7.
